Why we created Exploring Faith
This course was born out of countless conversations—with people curious about Christianity, people returning to faith after a long break, and people who never quite felt at home in traditional church spaces. Again and again, we heard the same longing:
“I want to explore faith, but I don’t want to be told what to believe.”
So we created Exploring Faith as a gentle, open invitation. A course that doesn’t assume, pressure, or preach—but instead welcomes questions, doubts, curiosity, and deep thinking.
We believe that faith isn’t a set of boxes to tick—it’s a journey to walk, a story to wrestle with, and a mystery to be embraced. This course is our attempt to offer a space for that kind of journey.
How it came about
Developed by a small team from Box Hill Baptist Church, including respected New Testament scholars, researchers and academics, Exploring Faith was shaped by our values: thoughtful engagement, inclusive community, and honest dialogue.
Over several months, and with the generous support of the Collier Charitable Fund, we gathered around tables, opened up Scripture, drew on scholarship and lived experience, and carefully crafted sessions designed to invite—not instruct.
Whether you’re new to Christianity, curious about it, or looking to rediscover it in a new light—you’re welcome here.
